Hi 👋 I'm Yuta Asakura

I'm a Software Engineer based in Kawasaki, Japan. With a background spanning enterprise cloud architecture and full-stack web development, I love building things that actually reach users — whether that's migrating hundreds of databases at scale or crafting responsive frontends with React and Next.js. My tech journey took an unconventional path: 8 years in construction before pivoting into software engineering, which gave me a problem-solving mindset you don't pick up in a classroom.

Right now, I work at HCL Japan leading database migration workflows for Nissan's AWS cloud transformation — coordinating teams across Japan, India, Singapore, and Australia. Before that, I was a full-stack developer at Tierline Corporation, shipping features for a live sports streaming platform with React, Spring Boot, and AWS MediaLive. That hands-on product work is what gets me out of bed in the morning.

🚀 I'm currently deepening my expertise in Next.js, TypeScript, and modern Full stack architecture while pursuing my CS degree at AMA University. I believe the best engineers never stop learning — and I'm always looking for the next challenge that pushes me further.

Built features for a live sports streaming CMS (VK Sports Bull Koshien) powering live broadcasts, match scheduling, and video replay for Japanese high school baseball tournaments nationwide.

Modernized the existing development environment: Dockerized the application, upgraded Java and Node.js versions, updated Yarn and project dependencies to improve build stability
Implemented a complex new delivery type (Self-Delivery Test) end-to-end: schedule registration modals with business rule validation, relay stadium screen UI updates, and CSV bulk import/export
